Western Link Road at Adelaide Airport - OPEN

Just before midnight on the 1st of August 2011, WATPAC crews adjusted barricades and signage for the new Western Link Road at Adelaide Airport. Sir Richard Williams Avenue is now closed to through traffic and only a short section at the northern end remains as an exit to the short term car park. Drivers dropping off or picking up passengers from the terminal ramps will now exit the airport via the new road, travelling along James Schofield Drive and leaving the airport at the main Entrance/Exit.

The following video was produced by 5DME video crew who were on location during the adjustment process.

Adelaide Control Tower Update

The new Control tower at Adelaide Airport is now a significant contributor to the Adelaide Skyline. The photo below was taken from the Hilton Bridges over the railway line at the Keswick Railway Station. Nearly 6 kilometres away from the airport.

See the interview with John McArdle above for interesting information about the new control tower.
